This winter it seemed like my skin refused to be hydrated. I would put on tons of heavy lotion only to have my skin be uncomfortably dry hours later. When I discovered body oils, that changed. I don’t know the exact science behind it but I now know that my winter skin needs body oil. In my quest to find any way to incorporate oils into my skincare routine, I decided to pick up this shower oil.
The L’Occitane brand is a bit pricey and this shower oil was definitely a splurge at $25. You get 8.4 oz of product which has lasted me about three months. While there are drugstore alternatives, I really wanted to try this out because of all the rave reviews.
The oil comes in a plastic bottle, much like a standard body wash. When I first used it, I poured out way too much products so you can easily pour out too much if your not careful. The packaging looks fancy and I originally thought it was a glass bottle. I’m really glad it isn’t because that could have been a potential nightmare in the shower.
The oil itself is has an almond scent that is pretty strong. If you don’t like scents or almond scented things, this probably isn’t for you. I personally love it and find it a really great way to wind down and relax in the shower. It is really moisturizing and it doesn’t leave any oily residue behind. It just leaves my skin feeling nourished and refreshed. I’ve also used it while shaving and my legs don’t feel as dry compared to using regular body wash.
Overall, I really love this shower oil and I’m tempted to repurchase it. I’m almost done with the bottle and I it works just as well now that the weather has warmed up. If you get a chance, you should try this out.
Have you tried a shower oil before? Do you have any shower oil recommendations?
